Job Title: Oracle Developer
Location: Canberra, ACT
Duration: 6 months with max of 3 month extensions
Salary Range: $900 - 1023 daily + super
Hours per week : 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.
Work Arrangement: On-site at Canberra Offices (Majura Park) minimum 3 days per week
Clearance Required: Baseline
Please note that this is a government role that necessitates Baseline Security Clearance, which is contingent upon Australian Citizenship before you can obtain such clearances.
The Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA) is seeking up to three (3) x Oracle Developers / Data Engineers.
AFMA will give preference to Canberra based applicants. Inter-state candidates will be considered if they can attend the Majura Park offices 3 days per week for the first 1-2 months as the solution discovery process and solution design are undertaken. Thereafter, more flexible work arrangements will be considered.
Criteria
Essential criteria
1. Database Development and Maintenance: Develop and maintain robust database systems, including schema design, stored procedures, queries, and scripts for data manipulation and retrieval. Ensure high performance, security, and scalability of database systems.
2. Data Integration and ETL Processes: Utilize Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) to design and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes that integrate data from various sources into a cohesive and efficient architecture. Optimize data flows to improve performance and reliability.
3. Data Modelling Solid understanding of data modelling concepts and experience designing and implementing relational and dimensional data models.
4. Business Intelligence and Reporting: Support the development of reporting and analytics solutions using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE). Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver insightful, actionable reports.
5. Problem-Solving Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively. Must be able to provide efficient and scalable solutions to meet business needs.
6. Communication Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable criteria
1. Familiarity with Federal Government ICT
2. Cloud Data Management: Leverage cloud technologies for data storage, processing, and analytics. Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and Azure is desirable. Implement and maintain cloud-based data solutions, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
3. Collaboration and Support: Work closely with the Solutions Architect and other team members to support the development and implementation of database routines and data strategies. Provide technical expertise and recommendations to improve program outcomes.
4. Security Clearance (Baseline) Possession of a baseline security clearance as a bare minimum
