We're seeking an experienced optometrist for a parental leave coverage position in our independent practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a patient-focused professional to join our established practice.
Contract Details

Duration: 7-12 months (commencing April 2025)
Hours: 3 weekdays between Monday and Thursday 9:00am - 5:30pm and Saturday 9:00am - 12pm
Location: Kew East, Melbourne (off-street parking available)
Additional Coverage: Opportunity for extra days during extended leave period (May/June 2025)
Future Opportunities: Potential for permanent position following successful contract completion

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of optometry experience
Current registration and qualifications
Ability to commit to at least 7 months, with possibility of extension
Available to commence April 2025

Essential Qualities

Passion for optometry and genuine interest in patient care
Strong ability to build patient rapport
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Team-oriented approach with willingness to assist front-of-house when needed
Friendly, approachable demeanor
Commitment to respectful interactions with both staff and patients

Clinical Skills

Experience with comprehensive eye examinations
Proficiency in operating advanced diagnostic equipment including:

Corneal topographer
OCT
OPTOS
Visual field analyzer
