The Mount Gambier Student Support Services Speech Pathology Team is dedicated to supporting students in our region to access quality education and achieve to their highest potential.

About The Role
Student Support Services staff work with schools and preschools to provide support to assist them in meeting the needs of children and students with additional needs.
The Speech Pathology Assistant supports the Student Support Services Speech Pathology team in the delivery of services to children and students with a diverse range of speech, language and/or communication needs, and their education support staff and families.

The Speech Pathology Assistant, under the direction and supervision of a Speech Pathologist, delivers a range of screening and interventions in preschools and schools.
Duties pertaining to the role are clearly and specifically directed by the speech pathologist with clearly demarcated work instructions.

This role is strongly suited to individuals currently engaged in a Bachelor of Speech Pathology degree or those who are eligible to enrol.
This role will provide you with on-the-job experience that will complement your university learning, and access to paid leave will support your on-Campus study time.
In addition, we offer financial assistance towards your course fees.

Qualifications Essential: Nil
Desirable: Certificate in Disability Support/ Disability or working towards completion of a degree or equivalent for graduate entry to the speech pathology profession.

Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration
OPS2 $58,709 - $63,154 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (11.5%)
