Be part of a dedicated team that is safety driven and values inclusionOne of the world's most unique sites, with the focus now shifting to comprehensive world-class rehabilitation whilst maintaining successful operation of a critical path assetBus-in; Bus Out from Darwin, working a rotating Day/Night – 7:7 rosterAbout the role We are looking for an Operator/Mechanical Maintainer, based at our Ranger Rehabilitation Project in Jabiru to execute efficient day-to-day operation and maintenance activities of the Brine Concentrator while pro-actively working to identify opportunities for improvement.
Reporting to the Brine Concentrator Operations & Maintenance Supervisor, you will be:
Carrying out maintenance work as required including scheduled work, break-in work, and maintenance shutdownsMonitoring fixed plant infrastructure, equipment status and trends so that plant stability is optimisedAssisting with the completion of relevant incident investigationsWorking in hot, humid, and wet challenging environmental conditions including working at heights and within confined spacesDemonstrating a strong commitment to safety to achieve a workplace target of zero injuries and incidentsProactively communicating all unresolved safety and process deficiencies to the leaders involvedKeeping work areas safe, clean, and well maintained and taking timely action to correct unsafe work conditions in the work areaContinuously contributing to improvement efforts by developing and implementing solutions to address issues identified in the work areaChallenging existing processes and suggesting improvements to enhance operational effectiveness.What you will bring To succeed in this role, you will have:
Certificate III Mechanical TradeA current manual 'C' class driver's licenceExcellent interpersonal, communication and team skillsKnowledge and understanding of computers and Microsoft software packagesStrong critical thinking capabilitiesThe courage to initiate continuous improvementIt will also be beneficial if you have:

ERA, established in 1979, previously mined and produced uranium oxide from its Ranger mine in the beautiful and rugged Alligator Rivers area of the Northern Territory. The Ranger mine is located on Aboriginal land, surrounded by, but currently separate from, Kakadu National Park.
ERA's mining and processing operations on the Ranger Project Area ceased in January 2021, with the major focus now shifting to the comprehensive world-class rehabilitation of the Ranger mine that will eventually allow it to be incorporated back into the Kakadu National Park should the Traditional Owners and the Commonwealth Government wish. The Ranger Rehabilitation Project is the largest project of its kind in Australia and possibly the world. It is unique in that it is rehabilitating land in one of the world's most culturally and environmentally sensitive locations, surrounded by the World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park on the land of the Mirarr Traditional Owners, located 3 hours southeast of Darwin.
