People with new perspectives, energy and passion to drive Viva Energy and their careers forward.   We now have a great opportunity at our Kalgoorlie Terminal, for an Operator to join our established team.  Kalgoorlie is located in the Goldfields–Esperance region of Western Australia, located 595 km east-northeast of Perth and we are ideally seeking locally based applications for this opportunity.  Note:  this role is not a FIFO position.
Responsibilities Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for operating across the Terminal for the day-to-day operational support of monitoring product in and product out.  This includes rail unloading, managing truck and lubricant gantry loading and, product transfers.  You will also complete regular maintenance inspections, perform Quality checks, sampling and testing.
The site operates Monday to Friday and includes an on-call roster for night/weekend relief (24/7 / as required).
Possible weekend work / overtime may be required for support for the terminal, day/night/all weather and including public holidays.
What you will do Ensure all Health& Safety critical processes are implemented and adhered to.
Promote our culture of 'Beyond Goal Zero' showing visible leadership in Health & Safety activities.
Conduct daily checks of gantry equipment.
Supervise Tanker Drivers for gantry product loading (assist with inductions, assessing competence and conduct vehicle inspections).
Complete routine operational observations within the terminal (including tank water draining, bund surveillance, gantry surveillance, pipeline and pump surveillance, fire system surveillance, and operational functionality testing).
Issue Permits-to-Work, oversee Lock Out / Tag Out procedures are adhered to.
Ensure safe practices around gas detection.
Assist maintenance works by reviewing contractor Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) risk/hazard assessments.
Raise incidents reports, assist with investigations and identify remedial actions.
Raise maintenance or inspection requests for equipment, if required.
About you You possess a focused mindset towards health, safety, security and the environment.
Ideally are trade qualified (preferred but not essential), in either mechanical or instrument/electrical.
You are an effective communicator with the ability to work within teams.
You possess a positive and flexible attitude.
Hold a full Driver's license.
Familiarity (or open to learn) the maintenance work order processes.
You are able to complete the following Employer provided training: Assessment and granted a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
Complete training to become a Shore Officer and Testing Officer.
Qualify to be a Lead Permit Issuer.
