THE ROLE As an Operations Technician (process plant), reporting to the Process Plant Supervisor, situated at our Wiluna mine site on a 2/2 FIFO roster ex Perth, you will ensure the safe operation of the plant, report defects and anomalies within the process plant, while continuously improving work practices to achieve production targets.
Your position will include: Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain process equipment (includes: crushing, flotation circuit, crystallization, and product handling), including pumps, valves, and control systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.Assist with the management and coordination of plant shutdown and restart, control minor incidents, and interpret process plant schematics.Conduct daily inspections of processing equipment.Conduct sampling and testing in coordination with the laboratory requirements to achieve the required grade.Provide quality shift handovers, and maintain daily logs and reporting.Follow standard work instructions.Identify and troubleshoot process issues, equipment malfunctions, and production bottlenecks.Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements initiatives. Actively participate in continuous improvement projects and initiatives.ABOUT YOU We are seeking a candidate who has sound understanding of control room operations in mineral processing operations, including crushing and flotation (reverse), thickening, tailings disposal, and management (wet and dry). Your knowledge of mechanical and chemical processes and chemical reagent hazards, detailed knowledge of process control fundamentals, as well as your knowledge of safe mining practices, including personal isolation locks and job hazard analysis will make you stand out from the rest.
The Ideal candidate will demonstrate: Mechanical Skills: Basic mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools and equipment for routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs.Technical Aptitude: Previous experience in operating, maintaining, and monitoring process equipment (experience with control systems advantageous).Problem-solving Abilities: Aptitude for identifying and resolving process issues, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and implementing corrective actions.Safety Consciousness: Competent in the usage of JHAs, Take 5s, along with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.Attention to Detail: Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures, to ensure product quality and correct usage of equipment.Teamwork and Communication: Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing production requirements, priorities, and schedules, and willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Upskilling: Have capacity and desire to participate in ongoing training, developing skills and experience.WHAT WE OFFER YOU Our culture is inclusive, friendly, and fun.
