Operations Team Leader – Port KemblaToll Group are looking for an experienced Operations Team Leader to join our Resources and Industrials division based in Port Kembla working alongside a major steel provider.
The role will direct, co-ordinate and lead the operations team to achieve the service objectives of the contract.
The role will ensure that tasks are completed in the most efficient manner with agreed standards in operational procedures including a strong emphasis on safety requirements.
The Operations Team Leader will provide support to the Operations Manager and coverage of the supervisor team.Duties and Responsibilities / a day in the life of the Operations Team Leader –Coordinate and support the operations team, monitor fleet allocations, ensuring that daily customer requirements are met.Oversee the allocation process to ensure only drivers who can meet the pick-up and delivery requirements within the legislated driving hours are allocated loads.Support the Operations Manager and provide coverage for Customer (regular and project) and internal meetings when required.Be visible on both Toll and its customer's sites engaging with drivers and customer representatives.Provide resources to implement and support the business OHS Plan (Inc. Any site/location OHS Plan) with its objectives and targets.Undertake regular OHS inspections to ensure a high standard of hazard management, housekeeping, facilities and work environment are maintained.Perform a daily check of information on the driver's runsheets to ensure they are correct and complete.Provide coverage for team members when they are on leave.
This includes a team members in Sydney.To be successful in this role, you will need:Previous experience within a similar role within Transport/Logistics industry, desirable.Intermediate computer literacy skills – MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Outlook and the ability to learn internal systems.A positive attitude, be personable, energetic and have an appetite to learn.An analytical mind-set – strong ability to problem solve and develop or suggest process improvements.Exceptional communication skills – written and verbal at all levels of the operation.High attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines within a time-pressured environment.Be available to work flexible hours to meet business needs.Demonstrated experience with Operations, CoR, Fatigue Management desirable but not essential.You must be entitled to work in Australia and be prepared to undertake pre-employment checks including a criminal history check and medical.
