Come and discover the opportunity to join our Orrconteam in our Blue Scope businessas an Operations Supervisoron the day shift at our Northgate facility in Queensland.
In this hands-on role, you will manage warehouse operations, overseeing the loading and unloading of steel products onto trucks and the operation of processing equipment to ensure timely deliveries.
Safety and efficiency will be top priorities.
As a leader, you'll have a direct impact on the safety of our team, and the quality and reliability of both equipment and products.
You will lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team to meet and exceed customer expectations, while driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
In this role, you will lead a team of 12 employees, primarily working during the day shift.
You will be responsible for transitioning operations from the Night Shift and ensuring a smooth handover to the Afternoon shift.
Your focus will be on setting the upcoming shift for success.
Maintaining open communication with both the sales and transport teams is crucial to ensuring that DIFOT (Delivery in Full, On Time) targets are consistently met.

What Will You Do? While leading and engaging the team, you will play an active role in fostering operational discipline and driving manufacturing excellence through continuous improvement and problem-solving.
You will collaborate closely with warehouse frontline team members, the stock controller, and the despatch clerk, taking responsibility for: Developing Strong Relationships: Cultivating and maintaining robust relationships with suppliers, customers and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and satisfaction.
Promoting Well-being and Inclusive Behaviours: Championing a culture of well-being and inclusivity within the team, fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and respected.
Supporting Operational Efficiency: Overseeing operational contractor management, optimising cost efficiencies, and ensuring prompt service delivery to enhance overall operational efficiency.
Managing Volume Fluctuations: Strategising and adapting to large volume fluctuations to ensure smooth operations amidst challenges posed by varying demand or critical project timelines.
Ensuring Compliance: Upholding compliance with statutory requirements, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and audit standards to maintain regulatory adherence and operational integrity.
Providing Coaching and Mentoring: Offering guidance and mentorship to direct reports and team members, fostering professional development and skill enhancement.
Prioritising Safety: Maintaining a steadfast commitment to safety standards, proactively identifying risks and opportunities, and implementing suitable changes to mitigate risks and uphold safety protocols.
Managing Shift Operations: Effectively managing shift operations to meet business targets, uphold operational standards, and ensure seamless coordination between team members.
More About You You will be an engaging leader focused on developing your team to deliver creative solutions to complex problems.
