About the Company

Based in Perth WA, our client is an Australian privately owned mining company with multiple hard rock assets in South Australia.
Reporting to the COO and Managing Director, the Mine Manager will manage all aspects of site compliance and operations of their newest open cut mining operation.

In this role you will:

Manage the day to day operations of an open pit hard rock mining, processing and logistics operation

Provide effective management of the principal mining contractor

Ensure statutory compliance is met at all times

Ensure all site personnel and contractors meet HSE statutory requirements

Ensure service agreements are met in full and within schedule

Integrate HSE criteria into all plans, processes, systems and decisions

Build and maintain effective working relationships and strategies with local community and key stakeholders

Promote and build the sustainable strategy with local community and stakeholders

About you:

Strong problem solving skills together with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to form strong relationships with teams and stakeholders

Significant experience managing contractors in a mining environment

Self motivated with the ability to work and manage independently and flexibly

Demonstrated experience implementing effective solutions

Excellent numeracy and communications skills

Advanced mine planning skills

Demonstrated reporting experience

Previous experience with business management and mine planning software

Holder of, or ability to obtain mine managers certification

Ability to gain and hold Woomera Prohibited Area access permit

Minimum C Class driver's licence with experience in working in remote locations

Senior First Aid qualification

A minimum of 5 years experience managing open pit mining operations

Previous experience managing statutory compliance including PEPR is highly desirable
