The Opportunity
This is a full time permanent senior & technical role reporting to our Site Operations Leader, working alongside our Generation Leader and Maintenance Leader forming part of the Site Leadership Team. The purpose of the Operations Performance and Capability Leader is to provide highly specialist technical leadership to the Site and EnergyAustralia, in the areas of plant performance and personnel capability. This diverse role will see the successful incumbent focus on the following:
Leadership of a small, high-performing team of 3-4 staff Leading the site's effort to respond to market demands and the clean energy transition with flexible operations and strategies Measure and monitor plant performance, including cost, efficiency, remedial action plan development and operational strategies to improve overall plant performance; Operational Excellence (OE); Develop and lead the implementation of OE initiatives, processes and systems on site. Establish alignment between site operational practices and broader EnergyAustralia business objectives; Assure that Mount Piper is at all times compliant with National Electricity Regulations by monitoring performance and compliance and facilitating training and development Ensuring Operational Readiness, Safe Commissioning and Return from Planned outages. About You
We are seeking expressions of interest from people with the following qualifications, skills and experience:
Engineering qualifications coupled with extensive generation industry experience Plant performance monitoring, standards, and rectification. Thermal power plant operational performance and excellence Leadership experience and capability Understanding of power plant optimisation "from the coal face" to the "node". Working knowledge of NEM law, rules, and application. Understanding of the behaviour of the Energy Markets, and the transition that is taking place in NSW, and the NEM as a whole. It is expected that you will exhibit behavioural competencies consistent with a senior strategic leader at the site.
