As an Operations Officer, you will be expected to accurately enter data using Queensland Government systems and provide customer service to internal and external clients to meet customer expectations. As a key member of a small warehouse team, reporting to the Drill Core Manager, you will assist in the day-to-day operation of the warehouse and core viewing areas, operating load shifting equipment including forklifts and turret trucks, manually handing core trays and cutting samples for scientific analysis.
Job detailsPosition statusPermanentPosition typeFull-timeOccupational groupFacilities/Asset ManagementClassificationOO4Workplace LocationNorth West QldJob ad referenceQLD/613157/25Closing date19-Jan-2025Yearly salary$71354 - $78085Fortnightly salary$2735.00 - $2993.00Job durationContact personChristopher HansenContact detailsPhone: Access the National Relay ServiceAbout the role:This position requires:• Strong commitment to workplace, health and safety (WHS) and a good understanding of WHS procedures and guidelines in a warehouse environment• Practical warehousing skills and experience, including a proven ability to work safely at heights• Customer service skills and experience• Previous experience in a similar role would be highly regarded• Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) High Risk Work (HRW) licence (LF class) to operate a forklift as stated in the Mandatory Requirements section.• An open C class driver licence as stated in the Mandatory Requirements section.• Possession of a current Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) High Risk Work (HRW) licence for the operation of an Order-picking forklift truck (turret truck) (LO class), or previous experience in the use of Order-pickers/turret truck, will be highly regarded.
In this role you will:• Manage daily warehouse and storage operations at the Drill Core Facility, using load-shifting machinery and manual lifting.• Work with the Drill Core Manager to interpret client requests and operate rock cutting machinery to produce high-quality samples.• Support administrative tasks like record keeping, data entry, billing, and handling client requests.• Coordinate drill core viewing for clients, including shuttle services to and from the local airport.• Organise work around requests from GSQ staff, Drill Core Manager, and Exploration Data Centre Manager.• Assist with audits, stocktaking, and identifying previously unrecognised core samples.• Provide client support on the use of departmental software, perform risk assessments, and ensure workplace health and safety.
