JOB DESCRIPTIONWood is recruiting an Operations Manager - Northern Territory to join our Operations business in a pivotal leadership role supporting our Oil & Gas clientele as part of our strategic growth plan for 2024 and beyond.
Based in Darwin this is a permanent role and is available as a full-time / part-time (job share) basis.Wood's "Operations" APAC West business delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimization, and technical services to the Oil & Gas industry and enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region's most prominent producers located in Western Australia, Northern Territory and Southeast Asia.In this regional leadership role, you will be accountable for the setup, growth, development and performance delivery of our Darwin office.
You will thrive in the challenge of setting up a new office in Darwin and building a team of project personnel across project management, engineering, construction & commissioning and project controls.RESPONSIBILITIESIn this highly visible role, you will be instrumental in creating an "inspired culture" in the region, by engaging and empowering the team to drive performance excellence and profitable growth.
You will have responsibilities across operational delivery, business growth and leadership, including: Accountable for safety, technical and financial performance in Darwin, assuming budgetary responsibilities for the office and demonstrating clear safety leadership; achieving monthly and annual targets and embedding company values Managing the ongoing business, responsible for budget setting and delivery, contracts, capacity and resource management, and capability management Providing guidance and direction to technical team in Darwin and support teams in the day-to-day management of delivery, ensuring appropriate controls are in place and ensuring Wood is working to the highest possible standards of integrity, safety, quality and operational excellenceProducing solutions to complex strategic, contractual, technical, commercial, operational and personnel related challenges which impact on customer service and performance Partnering with Wood's growth and development team to develop and deliver a successful strategy to achieve local growth in the Northern Territory QUALIFICATIONSYou will:Be an Australian citizen or be eligible to hold Permanent Residency (PR) to work lawfully in AustraliaHave a degree qualification in Engineering, Scientific Discipline, or related technical field OR degree qualified in a commercial/business discipline with significant experience in a technical organisationIdeally, you will have experience in a similar Operations Director, Functional Manager role or have proven experience in a Delivery Manager role with an extensive track record of successful operational and strategic delivery within the Oil & Gas sector.
You will have a passion for energy security and energy transition with the vision to navigate energy models of the future, coupled with your proven experience partnering with clients to be more efficient, sustainable, and optimised to deliver the best energy mix in their respective markets.
Commercially and technically astute, you will be a savvy negotiator and mediator, capable of engendering an entrepreneurial spirit of cooperation and energising diverse teams to adopt best practice, while driving optimal performance with safety at the heart of everything we do.
You will be customer focused with an ability to develop sincere and open relationships with internal and external stakeholders, balancing with operational excellence to contribute to the competitive advantage of #teamwood.
