A quick look at the role. It will be a hands-on role looking after the day to day running of a busy landfill site and a recycling facility. The role will include office-based duties ensuring compliance with company procedures and also a presence is required onsite to control site operations and contractors and the ability to assist when necessary to cover for staff absence.
Why it's an opportunity not to be wasted. Day to day planning of environmental compliance requirements and waste operations with the Site Manager, Regional General Manager. Daily management of the Landfill site, ATRF and other associated operations in accordance with Site Permit and Planning Permission conditions. This includes providing an on-site presence and daily liaison and management of the plant operators. Compliance with Health & Safety at Work Act, other relevant legislation and Company procedures. Daily management of the Landfill traffic management plan, pest control, litter control, dust control, odour control and all other amenities. Maintaining a planned preventative maintenance schedule including a system of checks for plant on site, and maintaining and updating the training matrix for plant operators. Communication, co-ordination and control of contractors on site, including inductions, safety plans and permits to work. To promote a culture of safety including accident, near miss and incident reporting. Participation in investigations, health and safety committees and audits. Customer care and liaison with customers and their representatives. To carry out monthly compliance checks, including keeping up to date records of plant and equipment. To attend and hold SIT meetings in the Site Manager's absence. To undertake weighbridge duties and associated tasks. Undertake monthly report writing this to include Bsafe, Monthly Compliance checks and housekeeping audits. Compile and submit quarterly waste returns for the Environment Agency.
