This position is required to implement business strategies and perform a variety of other tasks to ensure the business is thriving. Reporting to the General Manager - Ports & Government Relations, the position is responsible for performing the following in a timely, accurate and efficient manner;  Investigating and developing strategic new business opportunities and organic growth of existing business within the state and nationally  Ensuring sufficient levels of adequately trained and developed staff to meet the needs of the business Ensuring appropriate allocation of all resources including equipment, facilities and employees Monitoring, implementing, and supporting initiatives and programs to develop knowledge, skills, and competencies of managers, supervisors, coordinators, and staff  Delivering SCT services to customers in a manner that achieves agreed outcomes with respect to budgets and business plan forecasts for Victoria. Monitoring the use of equipment and facilities to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective operation.  Making reasonable and practicable enquiries to monitor employee and contractors compliance with company policies and procedures as well as applicable state and federal legislation.    Skills Strategic Thinking invests majority of time on future focus but could be "hands on" when needed. Maintaining strong communications with customers Plans and schedules effectively and maintain effective controls and attention to detail to ensure timely delivery of outcomes. Identifies and responds to customers' needs and ensures quality of service standards are met. Knowledge Understands business principles and practices and makes sound commercial decisions. At least 5 years Senior Management experience, preferably within the transport & Logistics field. Demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills Experience in Transport related industries. Ability to engender teamwork and work closely with staff to achieve shared outcomes. Understanding and application of change management, through demonstrated ability to effectively implement and manage change. Strong experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance Chain of Responsibility compliance strategies Understanding and application of cost analysis and management, financial and resource planning Previous EBA negotiations experience Working comprehension of Performance Management practices Working knowledge of Federal and State Workplace legislations; Equal Opportunity, Workplace Bullying, Work Health & Safety, Environment, Rail and Workers Compensation Likeable Driven person that has a proven desire to take a team on a journey and deliver outstanding business outcomes.
