About the Role Reporting into Director, the Operations Manager Residential Care will provide strong leadership and strategic management in the service delivery and growth of the Out of Home Care Services across the region. Your role is to ensure our young people, carers and staff feel supported and heard with the underpinned support of our CARE practice framework.
This is a permanent full-time position covering the West Melbourne/Geelong region with work from home flexibility.
The Operations Manager is responsible for the implementation and delivery of our Residential Care service, which provides trauma-informed care support to children and young people who are part of our service. The role will be responsible for the management of programs, budgets, human resources, stakeholder relationships, and reputation. The incumbent provides leadership to teams in the areas of focusing on client outcomes, quality, standards, growth, and performance of each service.
This role will suit someone who is highly motivated and an excellent communicator who has experience in senior management. You will have experience working within a child protection setting and management of services for children and young people living in Out of Home Care. You will use your business acumen and interpersonal skills to engage and work with multiple stakeholders, as well as promote LWB as a quality residential service provider.
Skills & Experience Degree qualification in Human Services or related discipline.Significant experience in the leadership and management of multi-site, multi-disciplinary programs within a complex, dynamic, and high-volume environment.Demonstrated experience in managing services for vulnerable people, including experience in child protection or the out-of-home care sector.Proven ability to manage programs and services within a budget.Demonstrated experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds with specific reference to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.A demonstrated commitment to the care and protection of children and young people, including working towards permanency goals.Demonstrated experience in managing competing priorities and delivering high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.Demonstrated understanding of Child Protection policies and framework.Familiarity with TCI and the CARE principles will be highly regarded.Advanced interpersonal/communication skills, including verbal, written and negotiation.Demonstrated ability in time management and organisational skills.Well-developed problem-solving skills.Ability to use initiative, think laterally and strategically, and meet deadlines and produce quality work under pressure.Ability to manage issues, risks and contentious matters.Current Drivers Licence.Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
