It's here people connect with the spirit of Australia from the confidence of seeing and interacting with our people, to the sheer awe that comes from watching our aircraft take off and land.As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the management of the Customer Service department and the development and implementation of short and long-term strategic improvement and change initiatives for Brisbane Airport. This position requires the delivery of agreed service standards for Qantas within defined financial, operational, people, safety and compliance objectives. This role is responsible for driving strategy design and continuous improvement by challenging existing business practices to enhance sustainability and efficiency as well as fostering a customer-centric culture through the business.In addition, this position is responsible for managing the relationship between Qantas and the Airport Authorities for the local operation. The position ensures that the agreed Terminal Operations Procedures are applied and that the Airport Authorities deliver against their service obligations.You'll have –Management experience in an operational airport environment with significant people management responsibilityTertiary QualificationDemonstrated people and leadership skills including employee development, conflict resolution and negotiation skillsDemonstrated experience managing a large unionised workforceProven record of successfully managing change initiatives, and implementing continuous improvement activitiesStrong working knowledge of industrial relations practices and human resources policies and proceduresDemonstrated commitment to managing a safe workplaceStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and prioritising conflicting tasksStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisationAbility to develop and maintain constructive stakeholder relationships, with a demonstrated commitment to deliver customer service excellenceCommercial focus with the ability to correctly assess the impact of decisions on business outcomesAbility to use discretion and maintain confidentialityWhy Qantas?You'll join a team where creativity and passion are encouraged.
