Operations Manager (Identified Position)BlaQ Aboriginal Corporation (BlaQ) is a not-for-profit incorporated Aboriginal controlled organization.
BlaQ is the NSW Aboriginal LGBTIQ+ peak organization, working to advocate for, support and empower Aboriginal questioning community.
BlaQ provides community connection through events and gatherings.
We are a community organization, made up of community members, and are informed by our membership base and community to ensure that Aboriginal viewpoints are included in government policy and reform directions.
Role Overview:

As the Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing the successful completion of the Closing the Gap project under the Digital Inclusion initiative, working directly with the Department of Customer Service to address key community needs.
Beyond this, you'll lead corporate activities across finance, legal, and governance compliance, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with our goals.
This is a dynamic position where you'll have the opportunity to shape internal processes, streamline workflows, and work closely with the CEO to ensure our strategic priorities are met.

This is a 12-month contract position.
Key Responsibilities: Manage office facilities, systems, procurement, and contract functions.Develop and implement policies to ensure compliance with legislation and standards, in consultation with the CEO.Collaborate with IT to manage business technology and digital functions.Assist the CEO with budgeting and acquittal report preparation.Work with the Finance team to manage payments, payroll, and financial compliance with stakeholders and government bodies.Lead all HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and succession planning.Advise the CEO on people-related risks and trends and oversee staff training and development.Lead WHS and injury management services, ensuring compliance with legislation and risk management strategies.Oversee grant reporting, tenders, and support BlaQ's growth and sustainability.Manage projects, conduct research, and prepare reports for informed decision-making.Support the CEO with scheduling, communication flow, and governance.Coordinate internal and external events, fostering employee and stakeholder engagement.Uphold BlaQ's values in all actions and relationships, adhering to organizational policies and procedures.Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Management, or relevant experience.Proven experience in operations management, preferably in a non-profit or community-based organization.Strong knowledge of finance, legal, and governance compliance.Experience in managing corporate activities such as HR, finance, IT, and procurement.Demonstrated success in project management and strategic planning.Familiarity with WHS regulations and risk management strategies.Experience working with government departments, regulatory bodies, and funding agencies.Applicants Must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
