Do you want to have a positive impact on the community you live in? If you answered yes, then we have an exciting six-month opportunity for you as the Reactive Operations Manager Transport Canberra and City Services Licensing and Compliance (L&C) unit.
L&C is seeking a highly motivated person to fill the full time, temporary vacancy of Operations Manager for up to six months with a possibility of extension or the possibility of permanency.
As the Reactive Operations Manager Compliance Team, no two days are the same.
From doing a thematic analysis of cases assigned to Compliance Officers to ensuring that regulatory notices are issued correctly and that procedures are followed, you will need to draw upon your extensive regulatory experience to provide timely feedback to Compliance Officers in the field to assist them in achieving a successful outcome.
You will need to be dynamic, agile, and have the ability to think on your feet in relation to regulatory matters.
As the Reactive Operations Manager you will need to possess excellent communication skills and be able to collaborate effectively with the Compliance Team, ASO6 Proactive Operations Manager, the Assistant Director - Compliance, and the greater L&C unit, in effectively regulating and administering the various statutory functions for which TCCS is responsible.
Primary objectives Lead Compliance Officers and manage the day-to-day operations of the Compliance Team to make best use of available resources.Regulation of public land use, and associated activities, to ensure they are carried out in a manner that optimises compliance and enhances the amenity of Canberra.Improve community compliance with relevant legislation, in line with the Licensing and Compliance Accountability Commitment.Please see the attached Position Description for details of the duties to be undertaken.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements: Mandatory: Permanent Resident of Australia.Driver's licence Class 'C' or higher is essential.This position does require a pre-employment medical check.This position does require a police criminal check.This position does require a Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
This can be obtained within starting in the position.ACT Occupational Health & Safety Construction Induction (White Card).
This can be obtained within starting in the position.The ability to be available in an operational field-based environment within core hours.The ability to be flexible and on occasions and be willing to work outside core hours.
Some weekend work may be required.Willingness to wear a uniform.Demonstrated experience in working in a regulatory/compliance environment.Certificate IV in Government Investigation or equivalent or an ability to obtain within 12 months of employment.Current First Aid Certificate or an ability to obtain within 12 months of employment.Experience working in a fast-paced office environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organisational skills.Strong operational knowledge of office and field-based information technology.Note: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of six months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency.
