Primary Objective: DriveSafe NT Remote operates within a multi-disciplinary framework delivering innovative place-based road safety solutions designed to promote responsible road use, including getting and keeping a driver licence.
The Team Leader provides technical support, training, and leadership to ensure the effective delivery of the DriveSafe NT Remote Licensing Program across the Territory.
This position is integral in building and sustaining stakeholder relationships and contributes to the delivery of the Northern Territory's broader road safety agenda.
Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide operational leadership for establishing and maintaining priority projects and program service delivery activity among internal and third-party service providers.Strategically develop and monitor processes and procedures to improve service delivery to meet business, compliance, and service demands while exercising delegations as a Deputy Registrar, Motor Vehicle Registry.Supervise, coordinate, and monitor the day-to-day activities of staff and manage and develop staff through performance evaluations, consultation, and training.Identify, develop, and monitor targeted resources and projects to meet outcomes of the DriveSafe NT Remote program and broader road safety initiatives.Selection CriteriaEssentialAbility to sustain effective collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the community.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, demonstrated experience in project management, and the ability to lead a small operational team.Knowledge of contemporary issues in road safety and driver licensing functions, including experience in practical driving assessments in a remote Indigenous context.Experience partnering effectively with Indigenous people, organizations, and communities.Understanding of Work Health and Safety matters as they apply to a workplace.Proven experience engaging with remote communities throughout the Northern Territory, including the ability to travel by air or 4WD.Hold a current 'C' class Northern Territory Drivers Licence.DesirableUnderstanding of road safety issues and strategies in the Northern Territory.Qualifications in a related discipline such as transport, training and development, or marketing.Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE 40116 or equivalent) or the ability to obtain.Further InformationThe successful applicant must provide a satisfactory Clearance Notice/Ochre Card before commencing employment.A Police criminal history record and a satisfactory traffic offence history is required prior to appointment.The successful applicant must have a willingness to travel to remote locations by four-wheel drive or light aircraft. #J-18808-Ljbffr
