What are we looking for? Here at City Aquatics, we are committed to providing delighting and engaging experiences to our customers through exceptional aquatic experiences and top-notch service at our venues. To support this, we are looking for an Operations Manager to help lead and motivate our teams toward operational success at Colmslie, Jindalee & Runcorn Aquatic Centre.
As an Operations Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the facility's operations. You will assist in overseeing safety, service, standards, and day-to-day operations while ensuring a welcoming and productive environment for team members and customers alike. You'll help foster a positive workplace where staff enjoy contributing to the success of the venue and the wider business.
Your responsibilities will include: Operational Support: Oversee safety, service standards, and daily operations to ensure a welcoming and productive environment for both team members and patrons.Product Support: Support all product lines, including Learn to Swim, squads, health clubs, café, retail, and additional revenue streams, contributing to the overall success of the venue.Team Oversight: Manage either the Lifeguard or Customer Service team, focusing on their performance and development while fostering a positive and engaging work environment.Collaboration: Report directly to the Facility Manager and work closely with the wider Head of Department (HOD) team, including the Swim School Manager and Head Coach, to drive the venue's success.All About You: What does it take to join City Aquatics as an Operations Manager?
Operational Experience: Solid experience in a customer-facing role, with confidence in managing various tasks, including commercial responsibilities.Approachable Demeanor: Known for being friendly, calm, and approachable, with the ability to respond quickly and effectively to challenges.Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail, ensuring nothing goes unnoticed.Safety Focus: A strong commitment to safety, driving high standards to maintain a secure environment for staff and patrons.Leadership Skills: Proven experience managing teams, assisting with recruitment, payroll, and daily operations.Development Champion: A commitment to training and development, actively supporting your team's growth.Effective Communication: Excellent communication skills, with a willingness to support both staff and members.Team Player: Enjoy working collaboratively, aiming high, and constantly seeking ways to improve and develop skills.Positive Attitude: Leading by example, having fun while working, and striving to do the right thing.Essential Qualifications (or willing to obtain): Current Blue Card (Working with children check) or ability to obtain one prior to commencing employment.Current First Aid (essential).Current CPR (must be obtained within 4 weeks of starting).Current Pool Lifeguard (must be obtained within 4 weeks of starting).We have in-house trainers to run these courses and provide discounted rates for all employees.
