About YouYou are an experienced operations manager with a strong background in the automotive or a related industry. You possess a unique blend of current mechanical and electrical knowledge, coupled with a proven track record in team leadership and business management. Your ability to drive efficiency, enhance productivity, and maintain high-quality standards will be key to your success in this role. You are a proactive problem solver, capable of making high-level business decisions and managing day-to-day operations with ease. Your excellent communication skills allow you to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and team members.
Your New RoleAs the Operations Manager at Autosparky, you will be responsible for overseeing the Administration and Workshop teams, ensuring seamless operations, and driving the business towards its strategic and financial goals. Your role will involve leading the team, optimising processes, and maintaining the highest standards of service delivery while allowing the business owners to focus on growth opportunities and long-term planning.
Key Areas of ResponsibilityOperational Excellence Purpose: To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all business processes, maximising productivity and profitability while maintaining high standards of service delivery.
Responsibilities: Oversee daily operations across administration and workshop teams.
Implement and manage operational systems and processes to optimise workflow.
Ensure the workshop is clean, organised, and operating efficiently.
Participate in long-term strategic planning to support business growth.
Analyse company performance metrics on a monthly basis, identifying areas for improvement.
Coordinate with the Directors on significant issues and decisions beyond daily operations.
Stakeholder Management Purpose: To maintain strong, positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, ensuring all communication is clear, consistent, and effective.
Responsibilities: Act as the primary point of contact between the business and its clients and suppliers.
Train the team to effectively liaise with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, addressing any issues promptly and professionally.
Present monthly budgets and operational updates to the Directors.
Team Management, Development & Engagement Purpose: To lead, develop, and engage the team, ensuring they are motivated, skilled, and aligned with the business's goals and values.
Responsibilities: Provide full management of the administration and workshop teams.
Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable for their performance.
Develop training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge, particularly in client liaison.
Foster a positive and collaborative team environment that reflects the values of the business.
Support team growth through structured development plans and career progression opportunities.
Service Delivery Purpose: To ensure that all services provided by Autosparky meet the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities: Monitor service delivery across all departments, ensuring consistency and excellence.
Address any issues in service quality swiftly and effectively.
Train the team to meet and exceed customer expectations in all service areas.
Implement systems to track and improve service delivery metrics.
Financial Acumen Purpose: To oversee the financial performance of the business, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
Responsibilities: Manage and monitor the financial health of the business, including P&L, trading sales, GP, and COGS.
Prepare and present monthly budgets to the Directors.
Identify areas for cost savings and revenue growth within the business.
Ensure that all financial processes are aligned with the company's strategic goals.
Regulatory Compliance and Safety Purpose: To ensure that all operations comply with relevant regulations and safety standards, safeguarding the well-being of the team and the business's reputation.
Responsibilities: Enforce compliance with all industry regulations and safety standards.
Regularly review and update safety protocols in the workshop and administration areas.
Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Ensure that the team is fully trained and compliant with safety requirements.
Requirements Proven experience in an Operations Manager role, preferably within the automotive or related industry.
Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Proficiency in financial management, including P&L, GP, and COGS.
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Experience with safety compliance and regulations.
Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in business and operations management.
