Outback Spirit Tours offers a range of unique adventure tours, desert safaris and luxury short stays across our beautiful country. Our adventures capture the very essence of Australia, from the rugged red cliffs of the Kimberley to the unspoiled natural wonder of Tasmania, we bring iconic experiences to life. We operate 9 lodges in some of the most remote, inaccessible and beautiful locations. Our team of guides, drivers, camp and operations staff are passionate about the outdoors and take pride in bringing our guests on the adventure of a lifetime.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to join our team in Albury, NSW. In this key leadership role, you will report directly to the General Manager of Touring Operations and oversee the day-to-day operations of our Touring division. Your primary focus will be driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer service standards while supporting our on-road crew.
Key responsibilities include: Plan and manage staffing requirements for the touring division, aligning resource allocation with business needs.Design and deliver training programs for touring staff at the start of each season and as needed throughout the year.Manage operational plans for the touring division, ensuring the delivery of exceptional guest experiences while meeting financial objectives and performance targets.Oversee the delivery of all promoted inclusions in support of the touring program, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and business goals.Foster a high-performance culture by delegating tasks, mentoring, and managing the performance of our on-road crew to ensure operational excellence.Ensure the efficient use of touring assets, including managing compliance documentation and operational resources.Effectively manage costs, ensuring that touring-related expenses—such as operational and guest experience costs—align with the annual budget.Ensure timely reporting and management of safety incidents and adverse events, prioritising the wellbeing of both staff and guests.ABOUT YOU:
You will have a deep understanding of the travel industry, with previous experience in an operations management position. You will possess a collaborative working style, be highly organised, and be detail-oriented. There will be a strong emphasis on continuous improvement to ensure and maintain the highest quality and distinctive Outback Spirit service, fostering an engaged, skilled, and motivated team.
Requirements: Previous Touring experience is highly desirable.Extensive experience in management, operations, business, or hospitality, with a proven track record of success.Strong leadership abilities, including managing large teams and resolving complex operational challenges.A collaborative leadership style, adept at coaching and mentoring staff to meet shared business objectives while fostering team engagement.Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and a keen ability to solve complex problems effectively.Demonstrated experience in leading diverse teams, managing a wide range of skill sets, and navigating intricate operational challenges.A high level of professionalism, resilience, and accountability in all aspects of work.Proven experience in heavy vehicle operation, with the necessary licenses and Driver Authority.A National Criminal History Check is a mandatory step in the recruitment process.
