The role: As an Operations Assistant, your responsibilities will include liaising with team members to confirm equipment needs for scheduled procedures, assembling and ensuring the functionality of equipment, and identifying items requiring maintenance. You will maintain adequate supplies and oversee the proper cleaning and preparation of theatre spaces between procedures. Your role also involves assisting during patient positioning and prepping, as well as transporting critical items such as blood and pathology specimens using standard precautions. This position thrives in a fast-paced environment where adaptability and teamwork are paramount. Each day presents new challenges and requires flexibility in response to changing control measures and varying operational needs. You will participate in morning huddles and afternoon handovers to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth transitions throughout the day.Our comprehensive six-week training program, featuring personalised one-on-one sessions, will equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge. You will receive ongoing support and performance feedback to foster your professional growth. This role offers shift options from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM and 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, allowing for flexibility in scheduling.Please note, that this role involves exposure to diverse surgical procedures, which can be emotionally challenging. Candidates must be resilient and capable of managing the demands of the operating theatre environment. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous, and progression opportunities to roles such as Senior Chief or Leading Hand are available for motivated individuals.
