United Wambo Joint Venture (UWJV) is an Open Cut coal mine located 16 kilometres west of Singleton in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales. UWJV is a 50:50 joint venture between United Collieries (Glencore and MEU) and Wambo Coal (Peabody). We commenced operation in 2020 and we are forecast to produce up to 10 million tonnes per annum of saleable thermal and semi-soft metallurgical coal until 2042.
In 2022, UWJV was awarded NSW Mining 'Operation of the Year'.
About The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, and as an integral member of the Maintenance and Engineering team, you will safely and effectively maintain operational technology (OT) systems to a standard and quality required to meet target outputs. This position will operate on a Monday – Friday roster for the first 6 months while the successful candidate is provided with training in the OT field before transitioning to the 4-panel rotating shift roster (2-2-3).
In this role you will primarily be responsible for:
Working closely with both mining and maintenance teams to ensure the continuous and effective operation of OT systems,Proactively identifying faults within OT hardware and software systems and undertaking fault finding activities.Reviewing and implementing changes to in pit communication infrastructure to ensure all operating areas have required coverage.Proactively instigating improvements within OT systems.Working constructively with 3rd party OT system providers.UWJV OT systems include, but are not limited to; Guardvant fatigue management, Modular fleet management, Argus Excavator fleet management, Rajant mesh Wi-Fi systems, PLCs, Cisco and Moxa communication hardware, Cambium wireless communication system, and associated OT servers, databases, firewalls, and Windows domain infrastructure.

Automotive or Electrician trade (Essential)Engineering or communications qualifications (Desirable)Knowledge and experience of or a willingness to learn about OT and communications systems (Desirable)Knowledge and experience of or a willingness to learn about open cut mining equipment (Desirable)This role requires an individual prepared to deliver value for all stakeholders, including yourself and others.
