A job to be proud of: St John WA have an existing opportunity for an Operational & Safety Performance Lead to join our Clinical and Operational Excellence department on a full-time basis. You'll be part of a highly skilled, committed and collaborative team that together provide crucial and highly valued services to the rest of the organisation.
This position provides operational and high level administrative support to ensure operational efficiencies for all service delivery departments in the Emergency Stream. This position is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and improvement of safety performance metrics and operational practices across the Emergency Stream.
What you'll do: Analyse safety and operational data, including workplace incidents, to identify trends, risks, areas for improvement and best practices. Facilitate education programs to promote a culture that prioritises safety, ensures an understanding of regulatory requirements, safety protocols and operational standards across the Emergency Stream. Influence and provide strategic advice and guidance on safety, health and risk management issues critical to emergency operations ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory standards. Investigate, research and support the development of operational and safety initiatives and project delivery within both time and budget constraints. Investigate, research and support the development of the driver training program and trainers, ensuring compliance with legislative and training requirements, and delivery of the program within both time and budget constraints. Develop, implement and review operational policies, procedures and workflows to ensure that the Emergency Stream meets the required statutory requirements, operationally, legislatively and in line with WorkSafe requirements. Lead responsive approach to controlling risks within key policies and procedures with an understanding of manual handling and situational awareness and what is reasonably practicable to protect our operational teams from harm. Internal and external stakeholder consultation and engagement to support implementation and review of operational procedures and initiatives. Proactively identify key risks related to Emergency Stream operational governance and manage these risks effectively, escalating to the Manager Operational Performance. What you'll need: Proven experience in safety management and operational performance. Demonstrated understanding of industry regulations, safety standards and best practices. Demonstrated ability to analyse complex data and translate findings into actionable strategies. Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to consult and collaborate across departments. Skilled in overseeing risk management, process enhancement, and project execution to ensure safe, efficient and compliant operations. Experience in providing consultancy and leadership support to managers and staff in relation to Occupational Safety and Health, Workers Compensation, Injury and Risk Management in collaboration with the Safety team, Health and Safety Representative and other stakeholders. Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to forge collaboration. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Demonstrated experience in administrative and operational environment. Relevant qualification in Management is desirable. Relevant qualification in Occupational Safety & Health (required or working towards). What's in it for you?
