The Operational Services at the Proserpine Hospital is seeking applications for an Operational Officer (Grounds and Maintenance) to join their team on a temporary basis.
Your opportunity This position will be responsible for providing support services for a patient-centred health care environment including grounds maintenance, garden services, facility maintenance, stores, and removal of laundry and waste. This position will require the ability to achieve the required quality and safety standards that are set within the department, initiative, and sound judgement, exercise a degree of autonomy and to work with and provide support for the Operational Services Supervisor.
About the Team The Whitsunday Health Service is made up of two facilities: The Community Health Campus – Cannonvale and the Hospital Campus – Proserpine. The hospital is a 33-bed acute hospital, which offers a number of specialty inpatient and outpatient services. The Community Health Campus offers a range of Community Health services provided by a multi-disciplinary team.
The Operational Services Department plays an important role in providing a 7-day a week service supporting the delivery of a quality and cost-effective health service. A wide range of functions are covered by the team, including cleaning, clinical support, facility maintenance coordination, food services, grounds maintenance, garden services, home care services, removal of waste, linen services, transport of patients, equipment and materials around the hospital, stores, transport and ward services. This position will also be required to work with, and provide support and advice to Team Leader, Supervisors and/or Manager of Operational Services.
