Fortescue's Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.Roster: 8D/6R FIFO ex.

This role will cover the Cloudbreak and Christmas Creek mine sites in the department of Water Management as part of the Chichester Hub Operations.
Reporting to the Senior Water Management Engineer, the central function of this position is the ongoing development, implementation and review of dewatering plans to align with monthly operational mine plans.
The position requires excellent communication, time management and technical skills to ensure robust hydrogeological assessments are completed on time and are effectively communicated to the business.
The successful candidate is also resourceful and a self-learner, who actively seeks opportunities for process improvement and innovation in a dynamic work environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop monthly dewatering and water supply operational plans and monitor dewatering progress.OPF supply projection and availability and advise on alternative locations when in deficient/surplus.Provide technical guidance and support to operational staff and other business units.Contribute to the development and implementation of work programs and systems to build and align hydrogeological knowledge for Chichester operations.Contribute to mine planning with respect to mine dewatering and depressurisation.Assist in compiling End of Month data and KPI reporting for Management.Maintain a collaborative relationship with other business units and external parties, contribute to knowledge building and awareness, influence decision making regarding water management.Qualifications and ExperienceTertiary qualification in Engineering Geology, Hydrogeology or Geosciences.Relevant applied experience in Hydrogeology.Water management experience in the mining industry with specifics around large scale open pit dewatering, water supply, reinjection, sumping and tailings operations.Knowledge of hydrogeological modelling, monitoring analysis, interpretation and reporting.Competent use of hydrogeological software packages.Effective communication & time management skills.Our Commitment Fortescue is deeply committed to providing a safe culture that builds respect, fosters inclusiveness, and values diversity.
