The Operations team is critical to our trading effort. We reconcile information and ideas in way that are accurate, compliant, controlled, and efficient. There are many tough issues to solve, and we are therefore looking for exceptional, smart people who can operate in our fast paced and collaborative arena.
As an Operational Desk Assistant, you will be responsible for the day-to-day support and running of the trading desks for Susquehanna. This will entail responsibilities such as completing position reconciliations, ensuring trades are captured in an efficient and timely manner, and positions are accurate and reconciled to external brokers. This role also provides profit and loss estimates for the day's activity and will manage pre and post market trading desk applications.
In this role, you have a responsibility to support the desk's adherence to regulatory laws and internal compliance policies. You will monitor and maintain the surveillance capabilities during the day-to-day desk operations. You will lead the development for processes and improvement of real time monitoring of the firm's trading activity, ensuring continuous oversight and adherence to regulatory standards and internal controls. This role is required to collaborate closely with traders, operations and technology to be successful.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree in related industry disciplines, preferably a finance or law related discipline.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel- Preferred VBA or other programming languages
Demonstratable experience in the financial markets arena and completion of finance/investment related coursework is preferred.
In-depth knowledge of options, equity, and equity derivatives.
Knowledge of Visual Basic / SQL would be advantageous
Strong communication skills (verbal and written); ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
Detail oriented; ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Must be a self-starter, a quick learner, and resourceful in solving problems
Ability to move throughout the trading floor as needed
