About this Position: The Operational Compliance Officer plays a key role in managing operational compliance and is responsible for compliance activities throughout various sections of Council's Waste Facility, particular to safety, regulatory and environmental compliance, improvement and flood recovery.

What we trust you to deliver: Assist in the management of Operational Compliance risks - ensure operational risks are identified, assessed, recorded and managed appropriately within delegated authority.
Ensure escalated risks are recorded and suitable outcomes have been completed and attained in accordance with policies and procedures Monitor and manage the leachate network - including pump infrastructure and drainage systems to minimise the extent of leachate on site.
Proactively manage leachate retention in damaged infrastructure in accordance with rebuild and construction plans Strong commitment towards Workplace Health and Safety, Environment and Quality standards and best practice - an understanding of WHS requirements and conscious of Environment and Quality requirements and compliance Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and internal and external customers - effectively collaborate, co-operate and communicate with the team, supervisors and external customers and contribute to a positive and proactive compliance culture Provide thorough information and sound recommendations - ability to analyse operational statistical date and compile reports for analysis and communication to managers and team members What you will need to be successful: Bachelor of Engineering or Science in a relevant discipline such as Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Environmental Science or extensive experience in Waste Operations WorkCover Construction Induction Certificate (White Card) Current Class C Drivers Licence Excellent written and verbal communication, including interpretation, development and completion of standard risk assessments, procedures, plans and audits Able to interpret and communicate relevant legislative requirements to employees and contractors The ability to identify issues and seek solutions Full position description: Click here Term Contract: 2 Year fixed term - 76 hours per fortnight Salary: From $1,518.90 (Grade 13 Entry) per week + superannuation Closing date: Friday 3 January 2024 at 4.00pm Contact: If you want to know more about this opportunity, please contact Matthew Palmer, Waste Operations Coordinator, on 0428 949 424.
Conditions of Employment: Conditions of employment are in the Local Government (State) Award and relevant Council policy, procedures and agreements.
