Delivery of health services occurs in an increasingly dynamic environment with changing community expectations, government priorities and technological advances.
The Operational Commissioning Project Manager will be responsible for supporting the clinical engagement and development of clinical requirements for major infrastructure projects minimizing the impacts from operating within a live hospital environment. This will include supporting a range of infrastructure projects to enhance clinical services that involve demolition works, construction of new buildings and refurbishments of existing buildings.
The role will require working in close collaboration with the relevant clinical executive, clinical staff and the project team, including infrastructure delivery partners.
A key element will be engaging with internal and external stakeholders, and managing stakeholder expectations to ensure clinical requirements are well developed and agreed project outcomes are delivered.
CHS is responsible for the planning and implementation of operational commissioning activities associated with this major infrastructure project. The Operational Commissioning Program is managed by the Campus Modernisation team.
The Operational Commissioning Project Manager will manage the implementation of the workforce orientation and training program; plan and co-ordinate service relocation activities.
Operational commissioning requires an equal degree of time, effort and planning as the physical construction of major health infrastructure; however, it focuses on the operational aspects of preparing the workforce, service providers and community for the commencement and opening of the new infrastructure. The discipline of planning and implementation of the operational commissioning activities are executed as a co-ordinated complement to the design and construction program.
Operational commissioning programs plan for:
a change management strategy aligned to contemporary models of care, standards, operating procedures, systems and technologies.building systems and processes integrated with clinical procedures that are tested under a controlled and robust framework.potential risks to patient care, safety and security are identified and mitigated.recurrent budget profiles including staff, consumables and services.development of specific workforce training and education materials for staff and service providers.robust documentation records of client consultation and detailed evidence submissions to the Project Executive Sponsor to support endorsement milestones.The Operational Commissioning Project Manager will report to the Executive Group Manager Campus Modernisation.
