About the Job Join our dynamic team as an Operational Budget Project Manager, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of public transport operations through strategic financial management. We are seeking a results-driven professional with a passion for financial excellence and process improvement to meet operational and compliance objectives. Your ability to critically evaluate complex information, break down high-level data into detailed requirements, and align them with business objectives will be central to your success. You will lead and contribute to in-depth analysis and insights to address complex business challenges and drive process improvements in line with broader financial goals, while your excellent communication skills will allow you to effectively collaborate with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
Drawing on your expertise, you will spearhead the development of processes and systems aimed at improving the PTA's operating budget and resource allocation. Reporting directly to the Manager of Budget and Financial Planning, your responsibilities will include driving the development and implementation of key budgetary processes that ensure efficient resource allocation across the business.
To be suitable, you will bring substantial experience in operating budget development, evaluation, and resource allocation within a complex environment. You will have a strong understanding of financial governance and risk management, complemented by relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, business management, or economics. Eligibility for membership with professional bodies such as ICAA, CPA, or IPA is required. Strong organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing demands and meet deadlines, are also essential for success in this role.

This is a pool recruitment process where suitable applicants will be placed in a pool for 12 months. There is currently a 9-month fixed term opportunity available for immediate start, with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency.
