You will play a pivotal role in supporting the success of our ArtPlay and Signal initiatives, both onsite and online. As the Operations Coordinator, you'll be at the forefront of production planning and technical support, ensuring the safe and effective execution of our programs.Sitting within the Creative City Branch, and in turn the Creative Programs team alongside Arts House, the ArtPlay and Signal programs partner with artists, arts and non-arts organisations to develop, produce and deliver innovative, participatory and multi-art-form programs and experiences with, by and for children, families and young people. The programs are primarily delivered from dedicated Council venues alongside online and "at home" creative offerings.In this dynamic role, you'll collaborate closely with Creative Producers, artists, and various stakeholders to oversee end-to-end production planning for new work development. From ArtPlay's New Ideas Lab to Signal's Screen and Sound Commissions, you'll provide the expertise needed to foster experimentation and innovation in contemporary art forms. Your responsibilities will include coordinating production logistics, managing resources, and implementing operational procedures to uphold industry standards and organisational policies.This role is a temporary full time position that will require you to work weekends and evenings as required from time to time.To view full position description, please see attached document on job application page in "Position Information". What you will bring to the role:Demonstrated senior experience as an Operations Coordinator or Technical Production Coordinator in a creative programming or cultural venue context - with a specific focus on a contemporary arts. Experience working with children and young people in the arts or cultural sector; and experience supporting artists and communities from diverse creative practices, access needs and or cultural backgrounds.Experience in effectively devising and delivering operational training for staff; and experience in coordinating and supervising production and technical contractors.Experience in working with a variety of contemporary art forms including visual art, performing art, multimedia and digital art, participatory and immersive art.The ability to manage multiple priorities within a high-volume environment, delivering multiple events concurrently and supporting the demands of new work development.What we can offer you at City of MelbourneAttractive Remuneration & Benefits: Excellent pay package with a range of exciting benefits.
