About the opportunity:Position: Operating Theatre Assistant
Vacancy: Permanent part-time, 37 hours p.f.
Location: Operating Theatres, Surgical Service Group, Townsville University Hospital
To assist nursing, medical and surgical staff within the 14 Operating theatre complex and outlie areas to ensure a safe and efficient work area:
Assist with the transfer of patients to and from the operating tables using appropriate equipment.Assist with Perioperative antiseptic preparation, limb support and manipulation, irrigation fluids, and basic cardiac pulmonary resuscitation.Apply cast, splints and other appliances to patients as directed.Cleaning of operating theatres and associated areas in accordance with the Queensland Health Guidelines and Infection Control Guidelines. This will include a 'high clean' of the theatre environment by the operating theatre assistant during core business hours.Your contributions will be valued and impactful.

Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.
This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
