Research Faculty - Microbial Infection and Immunity (Open Rank/Track Faculty)
The Department of Microbial Infection and Immunity at The Ohio State University, Wexner Medical Center seeks to recruit two tenure-track faculty, at any rank, who apply computational and systems approaches to address important questions in microbiology or immunology.
One candidate will focus on the immunology of infectious diseases, and one will have a concentration in the microbiota and microbial systems biology.
Candidates at all levels should have an MD, MD/PhD, or PhD in immunology or microbiology with extensive experience in computational approaches, documented evidence of high-quality, impactful research, and a strong commitment to education and collaborative research at a major university.
Current strengths of the Department include innate and adaptive immunity, mucosal pathogens, biofilms, autoimmunity, intracellular parasitism, and vaccines.
The Department has outstanding facilities and support, including a vibrant collaborative research community, an open laboratory environment that promotes interactions, and state-of-the-art core facilities.
The Department is closely affiliated with the Infectious Disease Institute, the Center for Microbiome Sciences, the Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology, and other OSU Institutes and Centers.
The successful applicant will be expected to develop and maintain an extramurally funded research program and participate in graduate and medical student education.
Candidates who are mid-level or senior will have an established research program with ongoing extramural funding, and an impactful publication record.
Faculty will be provided with a competitive salary and start-up package.
