The main coal seam is between 11 and 108 meters deep with an average thickness of 6.9 meters.
Coal is processed onsite and trucked to the train load-out facility off-site.About the RoleAn exciting opportunity now exists at Meteor Downs South Mine (MDS) open-cut operation for a passionate Open Cut Examiner (OCE).
The opportunity is yours to lead and develop operators while monitoring onsite activities to ensure compliance with the SHMS.
This frontline leadership position is responsible for managing the safe production activities of coal, coaching and mentoring employees to further their development and supporting the business in achieving our financial and production objectives.Key Responsibilities:Driving a Safety-First working environmentProviding leadership and direction to team membersMonitoring onsite activities to ensure compliance with the Safety & Health Management System including undertaking routine day-to-day safety audits, inspections and risk assessmentsConducting regular safety briefings with mining personnelInvestigate and report all incidents in a timely manner and participate in accident/incident investigations where the incident occurred whilst on duty.The successful candidate will maintain the following skills, experience and attributes:Queensland Open Cut Examiner Certificate (practicing)Proven experience within an OCE positionSupervisor's qualifications; S1, S2, S3 and G2 competenciesCurrent Queensland Generic Induction (Standard 11)Current Drivers LicenceStrong interpersonal & negotiation skills to successfully liaise with stakeholders at all levels of the businessExcellent safety mindset with the ability to positively influence the culture on siteWhat Sojitz can offer youCompetitive remuneration packageSalary Packaging options availableCompany provided transport and accommodation.Please click the link below to apply.
