Help Desk & IT Support (Information & Communication Technology) This role involves setting up, operating, and troubleshooting AV equipment for various events, including conferences, corporate meetings, live performances, and educational workshops. The position is casual, offering flexible hours and the opportunity to work on diverse projects across multiple areas.
Key Responsibilities: Setup and Operation: Install, configure, and operate a wide range of AV equipment such as projectors, sound systems, lighting, video conferencing tools, and digital signage. Technical Support: Provide on-the-spot technical support during events, ensuring seamless audio and visual experiences. Diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently. Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular checks, maintenance, and repairs on AV equipment. Keep inventory of equipment and report any needed repairs or replacements. Event Coordination: Work closely with event organizers to understand their AV needs, plan the setup, and execute according to the event schedule. Training and Support: Assist in training staff or clients on basic operation of AV systems when required. Offer guidance on best practices for using AV technology. Documentation: Maintain logs of equipment usage, issues encountered, and solutions implemented. Document new setups for future reference. Safety Compliance: Ensure all setups comply with safety standards and regulations, minimizing risks associated with electrical equipment. Qualifications: Proven experience as an AV technician preferred or recent graduate in a related field. Strong understanding of audio, video, and lighting technologies. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet. Good communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as events dictate. Ability to lift and move equipment, sometimes in challenging environments. Certification in AV technology (e.g., CTS) is a plus but not mandatory.
