Our Client, a global engineering Hydropower technology powerhouse operating in over 60 countries and with 20,000 employees, seeks to engage an Onshore Logistics Manager for a 5 year renewables biased project in a remote NSW location. The Onshore Logistics Manager is responsible for the management of onshore logistics for the entire electrical and mechanical scope (Turbines, Generators, Hydraulic Steel Structures, Balance of Plant) of the project, working closely with the Offshore Logistics Team, Freight Forwarder and Site Warehousing and Execution Teams.
The Onshore Logistics Manager reports to the Commercial Manager Onshore and works closely with the Team members mentioned above as well as with our customers the Main Contractor and Client in a collaborative and positive manner to ensure effective and integrated project delivery, driving to complete in line with the Integrated Program for the Project.
Responsibilities include: Joint management of Importing, Shipping and Storage of materials and equipment, in conjunction with Offshore Logistics team and Freight Forwarder.Liaison with local storage providers and facilities in conjunction with Offshore Logistics team and Freight Forwarder.Working knowledge of Incoterms and providing detailed advice in relation to appropriate Incoterms use Offshore and Onshore.Working knowledge of International Shipping Requirements, including duties and insurances.Advice, management, and assistance in respect of Duties, Insurance, Customs and Quarantine locally.Management, preparation and conduct of Expediting and Reporting and Tracking of materials and equipment.Forecasting and reporting on incoming freight and processes and preparing freight and logistics notifications for Main Contractor and Client.Provision and management of Insurance notifications to Main Contractor and Client in connection with freight and logistics movements.Primary contact for Onshore transit insurance claims and liaison with Commercial Manager to manage, report and close insurance claims and issues.Management, support, and attendance required for local transportation between port and site, considering local applicable rules such as Heavy Vehicle National Laws (HVNL).HVNL transportation experience, including Over Size Over Mass (OSOM) items, movements and permitting for Oversized and Special loads.Chain of Responsibility knowledge and experience (COR). Ability to advise, train and mentor others within the team on COR responsibilities and requirements. Ensure COR compliance across company operations, functions, and personnel Onshore.Ability to manage and support onsite Logistics functions (LUEZ, load logistics planning) for receiving and transport of items, including OSOM items and movements and liaison with Main Contractor in advance for requesting supporting equipment for movement and unloading.Plan, identify and arrange equipment for advanced movements onsite, including OSOM items (where not provided by Main Contractor).Assure everyone within area of responsibility commits to our HSE culture and follows the respective rules and procedures for storage of materials and substances.Handling of all SAP related processes.Oversee and manage the logistics function Onshore.Initiate frequent inspections as per the storage requirements and procedures.Participate in project and site planning meetings.Advise and work collaboratively with the Commercial Manager and Site Production Manager.Work positively, proactively, and autonomously.Work collaboratively with the Project team (Company, Main Contractor, Client) and provide advice and support and mentorship as required.Be a good communicator, positive influencer, and "hands-on" person.Ideally, your background will include: Engineering degree (Civil or Mechanical).HSE and Quality Mindset.Previous demonstrated experience in a Senior/Management level position in site logistics and warehousing or site management roles in large Hydro Power projects or in similar industries.Sound technical and operational knowledge of hydro-power equipment installation and commissioning.Excellent storage and logistics skills and look-ahead planning mentality.Proficient in Microsoft suite of programs (Work, Excel, Power point).Good understanding of technical sequence and related material requirements.Being customer and people oriented, accountable and solution driven.Team player with strong leadership of workforce and subcontractors.Do you have similar experience and skills for this role?
