The Role:
We are seeking a Senior Procurement Manager to support the growth and transformation of the centralised procurement function.
Reporting to the Head of Procurement, this role will see you take ownership of the indirect procurement portfolio , managing a spend of $70-80 million.
This role will contribute to the high performing procurement culture through the formation and delivery of long-term supply strategies.
Currently managing 1 direct report; however, this team is set for growth in 2025.
This role will commence in February 2025 as a fixed term contract with a view to extension and possible permanency later in the year.
The procurement function is enjoying a restructure which will result in a significant increase in team size.

Your key responsibilities will include:
Team leadership: Accountable for fairly and equally distributing work to deliver on targets set for the team across the categories.
Monitor and manage performance against goals, KPIs and timelines set to avoid delays or cost increases compared to set baselines.
Lead, motivate, recognize and manage direct reports.
Create a team environment with an open, honest, two-way communication culture.
Sustain high levels of employee satisfaction demonstrated through structured plans, consistent value delivery and high engagement.
Planning commercial relationships: Identify all the category spend drivers and provide analyses of spend behaviour.
Gather, validate, plan and implement functional & technical requirements with internal customers.
Analyse and validate market assessments that identify suppliers and solutions domestically and globally.
Assess current & emerging market capabilities to determine future direction.
Determine contract type (standing offer, panel arrangement, preferred supplier, direct, etc.)
that will suit the category strategy, draft and review legal documents.
Define the category strategy and its objectives to secure supply, rationalise supplier base or develop suppliers where needed and achieve optimal value, demonstrated in hard savings and cost optimization.
Creating commercial relationships: Map stakeholders and engagement levels required, as well as setting RASCI matrices for the portfolio and individual projects to ensure accountability is clearly understood.
Build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across all role levels.
Establish accountabilities for specific stakeholder/portfolios/supplier across team members.
Develop procurement strategic sourcing pipeline of work based on Business, Stakeholder, Procurement and individual Category Strategies.
Undertake procurement risk assessments and consider due diligence activities with a robust risk management approach.
Execute the market approach.
Facilitate the necessary communication, evaluation and due diligence (commercial, safety, regulatory and ethical).
Facilitate and/or create the drafting of supplier commercial and performance terms and conditions.
Prepare and facilitate negotiations and optional BAFO process.
Supplier recommendation and approval – Whole of life assessment conducted based on evaluation outcomes and if required a business case.
Manage their team's pipeline to the established timelines and goals, minimizing delays, lost value and pricing surprises.
Managing commercial relationships: Deliver against benefits targets as set by senior leadership including but not limited to Hard Savings, Cost Optimization, Spend with Sustainable/Diverse suppliers, price/SLA/contract/process compliance and others.
Manage the supplier lifecycle, from RFx or direct negotiation, Supplier Performance/Relationship Management through to contract end.
Focus SRM activities on performance management and extracting additional value during the contract lifecycle, including innovation, efficiency, increased sustainability/diversity at minimal cost impact.
Act as a dispute resolution facilitator if the supplier and internal customer cannot adequately resolve the issue.
Monitor and report supplier contract KPI performance, compliance requirements, risks, issues and opportunities.
Look to develop further value activity throughout the supply chain through price, volume, innovation, process opportunities.
Monitor for supply chain vulnerabilities resolve all potential risks.
Meet all internal policy and Statutory Standards/ Policies/ Laws.
What you will bring to the role: Demonstrated experience in procurement leadership roles in sizeable and complex organisations.
Demonstrated experience in managing all aspects of the procurement cycle from analytics to supplier relationship management.
Experience in indirect categories including IT.
Experience with procurement ERP system implementation will be highly regarded.
Strong analytical and systems skills including data analysis.
Strong negotiation and presentation ability.
Strong commercial acumen.
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering, Accounting, Law or related disciplines preferred.
MCIPS or other supply chain-related qualifications.
