Job Summary
As a Quality Manager, you will lead the implementation and continuous improvement of quality management systems, tools, and strategies to ensure operational excellence. You will play a critical role in aligning quality processes with organizational objectives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations. Additionally, you will oversee supplier quality and site management to ensure all operations meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Your Tasks
Implement and maintain the Field Service Quality Function strategy, tools, and systems to ensure consistent quality standards. Ensure proper staffing and resource allocation based on data and workload analysis. Monitor and develop staff capabilities to build a skilled and efficient team. Develop and oversee site-specific strategies and schedules, ensuring alignment with organizational quality goals. Facilitate, review, and approve Process FMEAs, verification and validation reports, and corrective action plans, ensuring proper application of risk analysis and classification methods. Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives across departments (e.g., Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Field Services) based on data-driven insights. Oversee and report on the Site Quality Budget, ensuring compliance with standards and addressing deviations with key stakeholders. Lead the development and maintenance of supplier quality processes, ensuring suppliers meet organizational and regulatory standards. Enhance and manage the quality management system, ensuring compliance with industry norms and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001). Plan and execute internal and external audits, addressing any findings and ensuring corrective actions are implemented effectively. Organize and oversee a local quality assurance system, including inspections and compliance monitoring for all activities. Manage customer feedback, ensuring timely and effective resolution of quality issues. Establish and monitor KPIs to track and improve quality performance. Your Profile
Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, or a comparable qualification). A postgraduate degree in Business Administration is desirable. At least five years of professional experience in Quality Management, including direct or indirect leadership roles in a manufacturing environment. Certified as a Lead Auditor (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 19011, VDA 6.3) with practical experience in NDT Level II testing, as well as electrical and dimensional testing. Proven experience managing supplier quality and site operations, with a strong understanding of procurement and vendor quality assurance processes. Expertise in business processes and non-quality functions, such as Manufacturing, Logistics, Engineering, and Purchasing. Proficient in using IT tools such as SharePoint, SAP, MS Office, and database tracking systems. Background in Lean Management is an advantage. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are an asset. Highly analytical, results-driven, and customer-focused, with a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving. Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Project Information
Snowy 2.0 is the next generation of the iconic Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme, and construction of this major pumped-hydro project is well underway. Once complete, the Scheme will provide 2000 megawatts of dispatchable, on-demand renewable power and approximately 350,000 megawatt hours of large-scale energy storage to the Australian National Electricity Market. Voith is the awarded Subcontractor. The above role is in connection to this project.
