A complete range of services are delivered to patients and their families, including medical oncology, clinical haematology, radiation oncology, cancer genetics, palliative care, wellness and supportive care programs, and specialist cancer surgery.

About the role An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced cancer nurse to join our team in a permanent full time role.
The Oncology Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) – Oral and Combined Radiation Therapies provides advanced practice nursing to oncology patients in allocated tumour streams who are receiving oral neoplastic agents or combined systemic and radiation therapies to optimise patient care and experience.
This includes:
Care coordination to navigate the complexities of their care pathwayEducation regarding their disease, treatment, informed decision makingSymptom and toxicity management and self-care strategiesSupportive care screening and referralCollaborating with the Oncology medical staff, Day Oncology and DOAH ANUMs, other Oncology CNC's, allied health and wellness staffLiaison with community providers including GP's, local pharmacies and palliative care services to facilitate ongoing management in the communityProviding professional leadership, educational, research, and systems support duties required to achieve the role.About you As the Oncology Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will have excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care.
You'll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:
Post graduate qualification in Cancer nursingSignificant experience in managing systemic and oral cancer therapies, and accredited in antineoplastic drug administration and handling in the ambulatory settingEvidence of a commitment to excellence in the care of patients with cancer, with demonstrated understanding of the care and management in an inpatient, ambulatory and community settingExcellent organisation, time-management skills and attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively as a team member and autonomously to meet patient needs and the goals of the unitWorking at Austin Health means enjoying a strong sense of purpose, engaging in meaningful work every day.
