The new Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) will connect to WestConnex at the Rozelle Interchange, cross underneath Sydney Harbour between Birchgrove and Waverton, and connect with the Warringah Freeway near North Sydney.Project scope includes:Construction of approximately 4.8 kilometres of mainline tunnels with three lanes in each directionCivil, Mechanical and Electrical fitout of Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunnelsSurface level work, including on and off ramps and tie-in work to the Warringah FreewayIn line with the above, ACCIONA is now looking for an OMCS Software Architecture Engineer. You will work closely with the Operations and Management Control System (OMCS) Manager to design, configure, and deliver robust software architectures for SCADA systems, with a focus on the WHT project. You will oversee the full project lifecycle, from design and development to testing, commissioning, and successful handover.Specific Tasks IncludeDesign, configure, and deliver scalable and resilient software architecture solutions for SCADA systems.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with safety, constructability, and maintainability standards.Conduct in-depth analysis of system requirements and translate them into detailed architectural frameworks.Validate control principles and support the M&E engineering team and subcontractors throughout the delivery lifecycle.Lead the integration of tunnel subsystems, field devices, and vendor packages with the SCADA platform.Prepare and review technical documentation, including control philosophy, I/O schedules, GUI displays, and test plans.Oversee testing and commissioning phases, ensuring compliance with client requirements and project milestones.Manage defect resolution and ensure readiness for subsequent testing cycles.Required Skills and CompetenciesQualifications and ExperienceDegree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.Proven experience in SCADA systems, control systems, and PLC programming within large-scale infrastructure projects.Strong understanding of systems engineering and M&E principles.Excellent technical documentation and report-writing skills.Proficiency in tools like JIRA, LENS, and other project management systems.Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to liaise with stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.Attention to detail and a results-driven mindset, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage risks effectively.Commitment to promoting safety, sustainability, and innovation in all aspects of your work.ACCIONA has been given the Top Employer 2022, 2023 & 2024 certification in Australia, which certifies the company's commitment to excellence in human resources management and those who focus on putting their people first through their exceptional HR policies.
