About the Role: Olivine is a wine bar like no other, set in the original cells. We are currently seeking a dynamic Junior Sommelier to support the Bar Manager and team in this venue.
The Ideal Candidate Must Have: At least 2 years' experience working in the hospitality industryPassion for the wine industryBasic knowledge of wine and spiritsBasic skills in supplying, dispensing, and mixing liquorExceptional service skills and guest focusedAdaptable and able to perform in high-pressured service periodsProven ability in building effective relationships and being a part of a high-performing teamOrganizational and time management skillsExceptional communication and presentationAvailable and willing to work weekends, public holidays, opening and closing shiftsWSET qualifications are advantageousMust possess a valid Victorian RSA certificateWhat's in it for you: You will have access to WSET courses, funded by us.
You will have strong exposure to local and international wines, as well as iconic brands with regular wine trips to wineries.
You will have a clear pathway for the right candidate to become a Sommelier within 1 year.
You will have regular tastings and wine training, along with plenty of networking opportunities with iconic wine personalities, including winemakers and wine experts over wine dinners.
Who we are: This venue forms part of a larger hospitality development on the original Pentridge site managed by TFE hotels. The other parts of the development include The Interlude (5-star boutique hotel), Chapter Place (conferencing and events), Olivine (wine bar), and the Adina Apartment tower.
