Wood is recruiting a Senior Planner to join our Operations team in Perth. This is an opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career and join an experienced team in Project Controls in Oil & Gas.Wood's Operations APAC (West) business delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, maintenance, optimisation, and technical services to the Oil & Gas sector and enjoys long-term partnerships with the region's most prominent producers located in Western Australia, Northern Territory, Southeast Asia and Kazakhstan.
RESPONSIBILITIESA key focus of your role will be the implementation, delivery and coordination of planning services, preparation, and communication of various disciplines across all project phases to prepare and assess project plans for all stages and facets, while helping project delivery outcomes in support of one of our key Oil & Gas clients.
Your responsibilities will also include:
Project planning and scheduling in accordance with project reporting requirements in the oil and gas industry Producing and issuing updates to project plans and schedules (logic linked with a critical path) to enable performance analysis to be carried out Assessing impact of client interface milestones on Wood plans and share relevant Wood milestone data with client through appropriate controls Ensure that project plans and schedules are delivered on time and within guidelines of the project controls processes and procedures Provide a planning and scheduling focal point for project and delivery managers, supervisors and Operations Business Unit Instigate alignment between Estimating, Planning, Costing Control and Proposals with respect to a Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) with project stakeholders Provides guidance and support to junior planning personnel in the delivery of their specific responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONSIdeally, you will have a minimum of 7 + years' experience as a Planner working in an Engineering environment. In addition, an Engineering degree / on-site experience would also be highly regarded.
You will have:
Knowledge and skills in technical planning & scheduling Ability to interpret project controls documentation and prepare planning documents in accordance with Wood and Oil & Gas industry standard practice Professional presentation with exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) High level proficiency and working knowledge of Primavera (P6) What will set you apart will be your exceptional stakeholder management skills (internal & external) and relevant experience in an EPCM / Engineering environment in the Oil & Gas and energy sector in Australia.
