Karara Mining Limited (KML) is an Ansteel Group company formed as a joint venture with Gindalbie Metals Limited. Ansteel is one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.
The opportunity We're looking for an Officer Warehouse to join our team on site, working an 8/6 roster and alternating 7/7 night shifts . Reporting to the Supervisor Warehouse , you will provide services and support to internal Karara stakeholders with an accurate and efficient continuity of supply for requested materials, ensuring inventory is receipted, goods stored and issued accurately as required in line with defined company policies, procedures and standards.
To be successful in the role, the following is essential: Previous experience in warehouse and logistics on site within the mining or heavy industrial environment. Valid Australian Drivers Licence. Current HR Forklift tickets – 5T, 16T and high reach. Demonstrated experience with dangerous good storage and transport. Experience utilising integrated inventory and maintenance ERP systems. Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite and SAP. Key Duties: Ensure accurate quantity and quality of inbound goods through completion of the good receipting process including the safe unloading of vehicles. Maintain inventory through correct labelling, storage and issuing of materials. Prepare documentation in anticipation for collection of goods to be dispatched from site. Executing all goods movements in SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to reflect the quantity, location and availability of items including, the accurate receipt and issue of inventory items. Ensure the warehouse facility is secure to safeguard the goods it contains. Upkeep preservation of assurance spares and integrity of stock items through correct storage. Undertake stock take activities for managed inventory and issue goods in accordance with customer usage. Monitor and receipt site bulk reagents and grinding media requirements. Participate in pre-starts, toolbox discussions and safety audits with the Warehouse team to contribute to continuous safety improvements. About Karara Mining Located 200 km south-east of Geraldton in the Shire of Perenjori, Western Australia Karara has an expected mine life of 30+ years. The operation includes a large open pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant and significant infrastructure and logistics networks. As part of the logistics network Karara owns and operates 80km of railway between Tilley Junction and the Karara mine site, linking the Karara Export Terminal at the Port of Geraldton, able to handle up to 16 Mtpa of export product from a dedicated berth, with associated rail and train unloading infrastructure.
