Role Overview Gympie Regional Council is seeking an experienced Officer Stores Support for a fixed term position through to December 20, 2024.
The Officer Stores Support is responsible for providing a support role in daily warehouse operations and customer service function to council through the efficient and effective operation of stores and depots functions, in accordance with council's policies and procedures.
What we are looking for: Ensure general handling, receiving and issue of Inventory is accurately performed and recorded.Assist with cyclic stock counts to ensure inventory levels are maintained to meet customer needs.Ensure Storage, Handling and Issue of Chemicals are to stringent Health and Safety Requirements.Provide excellent service to internal customers and suppliers by responding promptly to enquiries in a helpful and courteous manner.Ensure workspace is free of debris and remove safety hazards from aisles.Maintain a positive organisational image which promotes good customer relations and maximises the provision of a high level of service to enhance the customer experience.Maintain the Stores office, Warehouse and Depots as safe working spaces, free from hazards that risk work health & safety outcomes.Monitoring and overseeing of safety systems, signage compliance, manual handling, security, maintenance and OH&S actions on a regular basis.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to negotiate and collaborate with internal and external customers.Excellent organisational skills with the ability to coordinate and control activities relating to business or administrative support operations.Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.Demonstrated ability to exercise judgement and initiative where procedures and practices are not clearly defined.Sound numeracy, written and oral communication skills.Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide accurate timely advice in a helpful and supporting manner.Sound knowledge of section policies and procedures.Demonstrated ability with computerised financial accounting systems, including a sound knowledge of inventory control.Queensland 'C' Class driver's licence or above that is current and maintained.Accreditation to at least Certificate II in Warehouse Operations (or equivalent), or relevant experience in warehousing and preparedness to complete such certification.Experience in a Purchasing and Stores environment in a multi-disciplined organisation.Position Description For a full position description containing essential and desirable criteria, please click here.
