Unsolicited applications from agencies will not be considered. Gympie Regional Council has an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join our Marketing & Communications Team as an Officer Communications Support for a fixed term full-time position, through to June 2026.
Role Overview To support the Marketing and Communications team and the organisation by producing and delivering communications and marketing skill set.
To create and deliver the production, implementation and rollout of effective external communication, marketing and engagement strategies in a team environment.
The role will require the use of various mediums, understanding the importance of local government and their associated business unit communications and the dissemination to staff, residents, stakeholders and community throughout the region, working in partnership to raise Gympie Regional Council's and the region's profile.
The role will also support the team and manager with administration work.
Understanding of the workings and complexity of local government.Ability to write content and copy for various mediums (including media) within tight deadlines.To fit into a team environment, juggling competing deadlines whilst under pressure.Coordination of teamwork, central point for collating information on projects.
To work proactively.Understanding of the importance of a community-focused unit.Enthusiasm to learn and gain experience in a functional marketing and communications team.To work within tight deadlines.Media releases/media responses, for external media: Press, Radio, TV and digital mediums.Creation and production of copy for all mediums – internal and external content.
This includes and is not limited to: annual reports, brochures, flyers, event publications, launches, community engagement, reporting and digital content.Campaign and marketing strategy, production and coordination support: writing, production, coordination, management and delivery across directorates.Support communications workflows as required such as data entry, calendar management, digital, media releases, sign off procedures and ongoing support for the Marketing and Communications team.Internal communications scheduling, uploading and distribution.Assist the Manager – Marketing and Communications to successfully deliver key relevant strategies and activities as required.Position Description For a full position description containing essential and desirable criteria, please click here.
