Depot Customer Assistant / Administrative Assistant Salary : $70K pa Location : Canberra, ACT This is a great opportunity for someone with excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a keen interest in machinery and construction.

About the Role In this dual role, you'll take on a variety of responsibilities that involve both Depot Assistant and Administrative Assistant duties.
From managing the physical aspects of the depot to supporting the sales team with scheduling, customer service, and administrative tasks, no two days will be the same!
Key Responsibilities Depot Customer Assistant Duties Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the depot/showroom, ensuring equipment is cleaned, function-tested, fuelled, and stored appropriately for pick-up and drop-offs.
Receive incoming equipment, conduct off-hire checklists, and collaborate with the workshop for processing inspections and servicing.
Provide exceptional customer service to both existing and new clients, handling inquiries, quotes, bookings, and follow-up.
Administrative Assistant Duties Handle incoming calls, take orders, and book equipment.
Create invoices, process off-hiring of equipment, and make courtesy calls to clients.
Generate on-hire reports, enter fuel data into invoices, and ensure site-specific paperwork is completed.
Maintain and monitor cash customer accounts, process payments, and send new customer setup emails.
Perform general office duties, including filing, ordering stationery, and maintaining the kitchenette.
Skills & Experience Driver's license required; forklift license is desirable.
Previous yard/depot experience or knowledge of machinery/tools and construction equipment is an advantage.
Strong communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to work well in both office and depot settings in a busy environment.
Experience with Office 365 suite; familiarity with hiring software is desirable.
Willingness to work one weekend a month with two weekdays off.
Rewards & Benefits Competitive hourly rate: $70 - $75 (negotiable based on experience), plus super, uniforms, and performance review at 3 months.
