Office of the CEO - Executive Lead Work type: Permanent Full Time
Location: Dandenong Civic Centre
Department: Corporate Development
Are you ready to be a part of an exciting and transformative journey in the heart of one of Australia's most culturally diverse and thriving communities? Greater Dandenong City Council is an innovative and forward-thinking organisation, home to Melbourne's second-largest urban centre and a pivotal hub for manufacturing, retail and commerce in the State.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Lead provides a high level of advice and support; enabling the CEO to address the complexities of their role and achieve the strategic and operational objectives in line with Council's priorities. This role will assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Office of the CEO, ensuring effective support and partnerships are established and maintained with Councillors, Executive, the organisation, EAs, levels of government, and the community.
This diverse and fast-paced role will lead, research, plan, and participate in a range of projects, undertaking research and analysis to assist in decision-making while playing a key role in issues management, including writing, editing, and distributing content. Operationally, this role will ensure financial objectives are met by managing and monitoring the Office of the CEO budget and ensuring procurement and contract management requirements are in line with relevant policies and systems.
Key to your success in this role will be your exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. With sound business and financial acumen, you are politically astute and present with significant experience as an Executive Assistant (or similar). While Local Government experience is highly desired, candidates with relevant experience across other sectors will also be considered. You are known for customer focus, flexibility, resilience, creativity, and a positive approach. With relevant tertiary qualifications and proven experience, you will play a key role in ensuring the Council can continue to deliver exceptional outcomes for the community.
This position is a full-time role and hybrid work options are not available. The position includes a monthly RDO.
Greater Dandenong City Council acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of this land, the Bunurong People, and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We recognise and respect their continuing connections to climate, culture, country, and waters.
