The Division of Heart, Lung and Critical Care are looking for an Officer Manager to join their team. The department provides tertiary level inpatient and outpatient clinical services and holds multidisciplinary clinics including outpatient respiratory clinics and sleep studies for both public and private patients. This position supervises and coordinates the administrative team within the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, providing secretarial support to the Director and ensuring to provide a consistent high determination of service quality and performance standards within Metro South.

About the Role This position reports operationally to the Director and professionally to the Administration Manager.
The position is required to supervise and manage others.
Coordinate with colleagues, Human Resources, Payroll services, Switch and other relevant areas. Prepare and update staff rosters and associated reports (including leave), liaising with appropriate professional staff and disseminate information to Staff as required while maintaining accurate records.Supervise staff in line with quality human resource management practices including the Performance Development Plan (PDP) process for all administration staff with the unit, monitoring and recording of flex balances, identifying staff absenteeism and reporting accordingly and participate in the recruitment and selection process in conjunction with Administration ManagerEnsure the smooth functioning of the unit on a day-to-day basis including at times working autonomously establishing work priorities and meeting deadlines and exercising judgement when necessary to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures not defined.Review work practices and develop procedural guidelines for the local team.
