The purpose of this role is to contribute to the effectiveness of the Perth office by providing comprehensive and efficient support to internal and external clients in order that the business objectives of the firm are achieved.
This is a great opportunity for a student who is looking to get exposure to a law firm environment. Ideally, you will have at least 2 years remaining in your degree.
Our lawyers handle both contentious and non-contentious matters and provide a range of specialist legal services for many industry sectors, including insurance and reinsurance, aviation, banking and finance, construction and engineering, healthcare, life sciences, marine, public sector, rail, real estate, retail, shipping and international trade, sport and leisure, transport and logistics, and travel and tourism. We have particular expertise in litigation and dispute resolution, especially in defending insurance and liability claims.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain a professional front of house with a high standard of presentation at all times, including the coordination of meeting rooms and setup equipment as required.Collect, sort, scan, and deliver incoming mail, couriers, and deliveries. Book, track, package, and deliver outgoing mail and couriers.Monitor, maintain, and order stationery and other supplies in accordance with budget controls set by the Office Manager.Monitor and order kitchen supplies and staff consumables, including milk, coffee, tea, and other beverages and snacks, in accordance with budget controls set by the Office Manager.Assist the Office Manager with organizing catering for team events and business development initiatives as directed.Court filing – both electronic and in person.Document archiving, including retrieval of files from storage when required.Empty and manage confidential recycling bins.Use photocopying equipment to achieve copies of the correct standard in line with the Firm's and department's requirements.Make appointments, arrange meetings, and maintain an up-to-date office diary.Attend to the cleanliness of the kitchen area, including stacking and emptying the dishwasher.Provide Reception support as needed, including greeting guests and preparing meeting rooms.Prioritize work to accommodate urgent requests.Assist the Office Manager with maintenance of the office's condition to a high standard (both electronic and soft furnishings) and liaise with building management regarding cleaning, repairs, and maintenance.Assist the Office Manager with new joiner/leaver tasks as assigned, including setting up new desks and maintaining equipment.Required ExperienceThe ability to coordinate work activities and prioritize tasks/multi-task.The ability to carry out duties and meet deadlines in accordance with instructions.The ability to perform tasks to a high standard.A high level of understanding of office applications and equipment required to complete tasks to a high standard.Communicate effectively in a business environment.Please let us know if you require any additional support or adjustments to be made in order to submit your application to Kennedys.
